Food = Happiness

The last days I worked on the first game mechanic. I already implemented the management of the datetime and the creation of the residents. As first game mechanic, I implemented the need to consume food units.

As war progresses, the supply of food gets lower. At the beginning, there is no shortage. But at some point you have to make some hard decisions regarding the food rations.

The residents already have a value for happiness and loyalty a.) to the party and b.) to you. If the happiness lowers, there is always a chance, that they will become radical. It than depends, if they go against the system, or against you.

So always keep track of your food supply. Apart from the supply from the state, there is also the possibility to gain some extra food from the field work. So you have to decide, how many residents should work on the field to make some food, and how many work in thje factories to produce money and prestige.

Now there are several things to come that will take direct effect on the happiness of your residents. But food is the first to be implemented.
