New alpha version

Again, there are several updates and changes I made to the game. So, what’s new?

Chieftain clothing styles

The Kunig is somehow the chieftain of the tribe. Therefore, I wanted to give him a special appearance. The nobles already have a small kind of crown, so I wanted to give him an impressive hat, since crowns were not that common for Germanic tribes. This is more like a fantasy approach, since this kind of head surely never existed, but I think this will do. You can see the appearance on the post image above.

Sowing & Harvest

You can now harvest and sow the fields manually

I set the correct times for the harvest, and I also added the feature of sowing. Before this, the sowing started automatically. But with this approach, the player has to be aware of the correct timing, but also he now has more control over the soil quality. Since the soil quality decreases while stuff is planted, but it increases again if nothing is planted. So you have to make decisions, if you want to give the soil a rest, or go all in with vegetables in the winter and the barley crops throughout the year.

Weather

I added a basic weather system with the current temperature and the weather conditions depending on the current season. Weather can affect multiple things like travelling, exploring, fighting, but also the growth and harvest of food. It even should have an impact on the health and sickness of residents. After all it’s not that healthy working on the field on a stormy day.

Advisors

You can see the advisors at the bottom of the screen. The event screen shows a thing, where the residents discuss you as a chieftain.

I added a system to call residents to the council. Residents in the council will be more happy, loyal and well respected within the settlement. They can also give you advice. But since they earn respect, they can grow strong and get dangerous for you.
