Web developer tries to be a game developer
I’ve been working as a freelancer web developer since 2010. That’s quite a long run. But even longer, I am a passionate gamer. Ever since my first computer (C64) in the year 1989 it was all about games and programming. But never at the same time. While gaming is still a nice hobby, my main work is developing web applications and websites for clients all around the world.
With this blog, I am trying to document my progress in trying and failing developing a game.

New version 0.0.1 with a lot of features
It’s been a long time since I posted something new about one of my game projects. But still I was not idle. I’ve started a mobile game based on Godot in the last weeks, worked on another non-PC game concept and finally made some progress on some very big points for Tribes. The screenshot that…

New alpha version
Again, there are several updates and changes I made to the game. So, what’s new? Chieftain clothing styles The Kunig is somehow the chieftain of the tribe. Working on the Tribes game again
The terrain now has natural ressources like iron ore. Also, I worked on the procedural world map so the distance and size of a biome is not too big.

Working on the supply delivery
In the last days I took a time off from my “Tribes” project since I was stumbling into a gameplay crisis. Sometimes it’s better, to take a step down for some days and revisited the project with a fresh mind. While doing so, I decided to work on the plane project again. Actually, I did…

Adding game assets through Midjourney
Since I have a lot of events and popup messages, I wanted to bring some flavor to the notifications. This works best with fitting images. But I don’t have the skills or the time to create an image for each possible scenario. So I decided to try Midjourney as a source of fitting images. Some…
